Strongly recommend Tomich Landscaping. We recently rebuilt a house at Goose Pond, in Tyringham, MA. Our builder recommended Tomich for the landscaping, and we are thrilled with the result. They drew up several plans for hardscape (front walkway, driveway, back patios), foundation and privacy plantings, final contouring, grass seeding and mulch pathways. They worked patiently around the final construction work, and kept us involved. As the bushes are beginning to grow in, we can already appreciate the selections. The patios and walkways were laid out with large flagstones from Goshen Stone, a local quarry which they recommended - the design, installation and final result were truly wonderful. After hearing multiple recommendations from other Berkshire residents and seeing the beautiful work the Tomich crew did on a good friend's property, we knew they would be able to transform the raw acreage around our rural home into something we would love. Chris listened to our requests and designed landscaping and hardscaping that is easy to maintain and the perfect complement to the architecture of our Cape style home. The creativity of the designs and results far exceeded our expectations. Chris even incorporated some modern sculptures we owned into the plans which made our project even more personal. When we first received our contractor’s recommendation to contact you, your response was timely. You listened to what our requirements were, evaluated what needed to be done, and then provided a competitive quote. Once a business agreement was reached, a start date was given by Tomich Landscape and then met. Their work (frankly) surpassed our expectations. Their employees and supervisors were cordial and helpful as the work progressed. In late summer 2023 Adam Tomich designed and implemented a landscape project for us at our home in Sheffield. We had been trying to deal with a side yard that bordered woodland but was largely briar and invasives. Adam designed a low maintenance area that I had requested with creativity and ingenuity. He removed the briar and brush exposing beautiful ledge which was scraped clean in several areas. Succulents were planted in crevices in the ledge. The remaining planting consisted of a hedge of arborvitae, specimen plants of kusa dogwood and Japanese maple. Shasta daisy, rudbeckia, purple hardy geranium and dark leaf heuchera along with Japanese forest grass make for color all summer season well into the fall. All plants survived the first winter and during this past summer of drought all plants thrived with little care a very little watering. Adam and his crew were a pleasure to work with and they completed the project in a very timely manner and completely on budget. Adam is a gifted professional that I very highly recommend!

When my husband and I bought our house in Great Barrington 3 years ago we made significant changes to the interior of the house. But the changes inside paled in comparison to the transformation wrought by the magnificent work of Tomich Landscape Design. As owners of several homes, we have had multiple opportunities to work with designers, and we can happily say that our interactions with Tomich have been the most personally pleasant and enjoyable and the most fruitful and satisfying in terms of results that we have ever had. Tomich's vision quite literally transformed every aspect of our property, from the gardens to the "woods" to the pool and the surrounding deck, including pathways and access. There is nothing to which Tomich didn't bring attention, thoughtfulness, experience and imagination, and we are endlessly grateful for the increased enjoyment we have gained from the "Tomich magic".

When we bought our house, we had big landscape dreams but no idea where to start. Tomich worked with us to develop a comprehensive plan that both allowed us to see the end-goal while also accommodating our budgetary need to roll it out over time. We first worked with Mark and his team on a large-scale project on our four-story circa 1900 home involving multiple stairways, five garden areas and a long, country driveway. It was a perfect blend of stunning and practical. His rock selection is unmatched! The second project was smaller scale for our Lenox cottage that needed a unifying design for the front and sides of a compact mid-century house. He literally transformed the look and feel of our house through perfectly executed and proportionate stone walls and gracious entry. I am so impressed with his range and scale of work. From massive boulders to small fieldstone, his eye for design is precise, practical and always beautiful.

We worked with Tomich on some major landscaping and exterior development at our house in Great Barrington.  They were absolutely great to work with, completely professional, detail-oriented and thorough.  They were also extremely creative – our property has some significant space and layout limitations that we thought prevented us from creating usable exterior space, but Tomich came up with innovative solutions that maximized the use and the beauty of the outdoor space in ways that we could not have envisioned.  The results are spectacular and we now love the exterior of our house as much as the interior.  They were also diligent and completed the work on schedule, and were a pleasure to deal with.

Over the years Tomich Landscape Design has transformed our property from a yard with a few scrawny shrubs into a relaxing oasis of flowering perennials and ornamental trees accented by a series of distinctive stones that each have a personality of their own. The overall effect is seamless, but each element stands out too. Friends never cease to marvel over the front walkway showcasing huge panels of Goshen stone, while the sweep of the gravel patio in the back has created a lovely setting to entertain in the summer as well as drawing one’s gaze during the chilly months of winter. An innovative rock pool with a bubbling fountain has provided us with endless entertainment by attracting a variety of beautiful birds who appreciate a refreshing splash. Our collaboration has been both creative and rewarding. Following a brainstorming session or two, their brilliant designer develops a holistic plan that weaves everything together into a result more amazing than we ever imagined. Tomich’s intuitive grasp of what will best suit the contours of the land, an encyclopedic knowledge of trees and plants and a sure understanding of what will thrive in sun or shade all combine to make the plan come to life—and stay that way! Our experience in the Berkshires has been deeply enriched by our relationship with Tomich Landscape Design and their friendly and expert crew. We’re already thinking about our next  project!
